Museum copy in ash wood with tremolo, dressed by hand with 22 carat gold leaf. From the luxurious series of copies.

St. James lived in modern times and was abbot of the monastery of Saint David in Rovies, Evia. With his tireless prayer and enlightened counsel he helped countless faithful during his life and performed unceasing miracles after his death. Despite the fact that he was sought after and visited by people of all categories, simple, poor, rich, in high places… he remained a model of humility and is recorded in our Holy Book as the Saint “I am forgiven”, since during his conversation with the faithful he constantly asked them for forgiveness…

Dimitris Vernezos was blessed to be related to St. James in his family and to meet him frequently from his childhood until his death, as well as to witness miraculous events with the Saint.

This particular hagiography comes from a mural he painted in the Church of St. John of Russia.
